To address these drawbacks, Dr. Shantikumar Dhondiram Chivate, Senior Colorectal Surgeon Jeevan Jyot Hospital, Thane, Maharashtra, devised a novel surgical procedure for piles treatment called ‘Transanal Suture Mucopexy’ along with fabricating a highly durable plastic proctoscope which aids the surgical procedure to be simple and relatively painless.

1. Window without any edges in the outer tube to facilitate the surgical procedure.
2. Self-illuminating proctoscope with an ergonomic design provides a clear field of view for the surgeon without obstructing the operating area.
3. Outer tube molded with a blind, smooth conical shape at one end for easy introduction into the anal canal with an obturator.
4. The proctoscope retracts the anus and rectum and compresses hemorrhoidal engorgement up to the dentate line and reduces bleeding.
